When I first decided to start using Stash, I was hesitant due to the 3.5 star rating the app had earned. People slammed it for not doing this, or failing to do that, but I looked past the quibbles and decided to invest. Even though my stocks are sucking right now after the January down-surge, its no fault of Stash. I see so many ignorant people bashing Stash for ridiculous reasons. One reviewer didnt understand decimal placement and gave a lousy review because he thought Stash was going to take 25% of his account each year. Wow. Another review slammed Stash because they couldnt get their account validated. There are reasons they verify your identity (you know, like taxes and other legitimate concerns). Heres my advice as a normal, average dude with a smartphone: if you can throw $20+ a month at the app, youre ahead of everyone else. Dont let these whiners dissuade you from buying stocks that have been curated for us normal folks understanding. Most of the ETFs I purchase are through Vanguard, a highly respected mutual fund company thats 100% legit. If youre on the fence, give it a go. Youll be glad you didnt listen to the haters.
